the mild side. we do have rain headed our way is to our north. we're saying light rain east right around chico. it rain later on this afternoon for the north bay and maybe for the bay area. storm tracker from our shows you where the rain as located just north of santa rosa. we have maybe a half inch of rain on the way for the bay area. i have full details on what to expect and when exactly you need your umbrella coming up in my next report. >> we are taking a look at the peninsula on the 1 01 and northbound direction where at holly street in san carlos we have received word that there is a large pot hole and the roadway that may be affecting the traffic. it was reported on the northbound side of highway 1 01. we are seen some slow traffic around 90 to enter change but that itself is not a problem. it

is typical see some slowing there. there is a report that there may be a large pot hole that has ashley flatten some tires on the vehicles northbound. this could be a hot spot for the northbound commute. >> if he is muni metro, all of the trains should be running. there was a power outage that knocked out all the underground train service last night during the evening commute. it was a blown transformer near the van ness and then station. good news to hear things are up and running for this morning's commute. >> i was calling about quarter to five and they said they were backed up and running. >> i guess you'd be forced to walk a mile and a half if it didn't. >> if i do not have the

copyright wet walk a mile and half but i am still waiting. >> the transformer blew around 5:45 p.m. last night. >> four fire stations are slated for a closer and contra costa county early next year. voters have rejected a measure on the ballot that would have kept them funded and operating. jackie sissel is on the scene with the latest on the situation out there. this is something that will impact the communities, specifically where stations are located. >> you are correct as the station for in walnut creek that is on the chopping block. this is one of the four stations scheduled to be closed and the contra costa fire county district. here is some video of the firefighters at work. we talked about the partial tax called measure q and had failed in november. that

would have kept the contra costa fire in a country distich fully funded. because it was shot down there have to close down four of the stations here. they hope to save about $3 million a year out of their $102 million annual budget. which ones will be closed? this one here is on the chopping block, station no. 4. also on the block is at station 11 stations well in march and as a as well as station no. 16 and lafayette. that leaves two stations and lafayette. the stations that were chosen were based on call volume and how many calls they get. the fire district itself is huge, nine cities and about 600,000 people in the district. the district says the answer 41,000 calls a year. the meeting in

martinez today will be with the supervisors' offices for the preliminary go over for the stations that are on the chopping block. they're already scheduled to be close. they're encouraging the public to show up the meeting is that 115 pirie and perhap >> police are on the scene of what they're calling it a sophisticated pot growing operation and the south bay. it is an east san jose on the 1300 block of sandalwood court. police got a call at 3 this morning they saw three pe going into the home and i thought it was a robbery in progress. when police arrived and found over 300 pot plants valued at over $125,000. nome was there when the police got there. no one lives and the home and police are calling this a sophisticated row house.

a vote in san francisco or the board of supervisors is expected to make a final decision on a citywide ban on new duties. the meetings

today there expecting many people who be disrobing once again as we saw last supervisors' meeting. several people took off their clothes at a board meeting but the board approved 65 and approval of this netted be banned in san francisco. if is finalized today it will take effect on february february 1st. five will start at $100 and go up with each additional offense. the ban will not be in force for major events like bay to breakers for the pride parade. >> backers of labor leader f x crawly who lost by 132 votes in his bid for district 7 supervisor will not move forward with a recount. it is too expensive. it will cost about $80,000 to manually

making its way closer to santa rosa. this is a slow- moving system but i do anticipate showers in the north bay later on this afternoon. the satellite and radar shows what is happening as high pressure is keeping its track north. we will experience light rain later on today and it will pick up and intensity over the overnight hours. future cast 4:03 p.m. later on today some light rain for san rafael and napa and even stretching out towards fairfield. it will mostly stick north of the golden gate bridge. the 10:00 hour yellow indicates heavy to modern rain that will pick up in intensity at 4:00 a.m. tomorrow morning. showers will cross the bridge and continue to push their way south as we head into tomorrow morning. it will taper off later on wednesday afternoon. current temperature is a, a mild

>> things are much better this morning on muni metro trains. full-service up during this morning's commute after last night's power outage not out of the underground train service around 545. a blown transformer near the van ness station was a cause of the outage. >> some residents and contra costa county may have to wait a little longer next time the fire alarm goes off. four fire stations are slated for closure in that county. this is slated have been in january and jackie sissel is live in front of station no. 4 in walnut creek >> i am at station no. 4 in the contra costa fire protection district and this is one of four stations that is on the chopping block slated to be close. this is because of the parcel tax in november failed measure q. this means the district is on able to meet the budget

needs and will start closing some stations. here is video of the district at work. there are 28 stations are wrong contra costa county and by closing these four stations they can save up to $3 million a year. $102 million annual budget. the list of stations that our schedule and slated to close the station for a walnut creek station no. 11 on center and clayton. that is clinton's only station. no. 12 and martina's and no. 16 and lafayette is all so on the chopping block. that is one of three stations in that city. it is a huge it district and we are talking about nine cities and 600,000 people and they answer 41,000 calls a year. this is a big deal. they're having a meeting in martinez

welcome back to the kron 4 morning news 7:44 a.m. take a look at storm tracker 4 we have light rain to our north. he conceded ukiah stretching as far east as chico. the reason prius did you see a light strayed shower coming in santa rosa. satellite radar shows the will of the wet weather still impacting northern california. here in the bay area we are seeing the clouds associated with that system but this is relatively weak in nature. high pressure is changing the track and it is actually staying north. this is a slow mover we will see some showers around santa rosa this afternoon. most of the activity sticks and north of
